When something does not work, what support sees in your installation helps most. The diagnostics are a file you download yourself; they are not the same as the weekly diagnostic data. They bundle versions, settings, error codes and the structure of your forms in one file, without entries, contact data or keys. The diagnostics and the log of the latest admin actions are on the Support page in Funnelforms Pro. In Free and Pro, Funnelforms also reports in the WordPress Site Health.
Requirements
- Funnelforms Free 5.0 or Funnelforms Pro 5.0. Site Health exists in both editions. Download diagnostics and Latest admin actions (Pro only) are on the Support page, which exists only in Pro.
- For the diagnostics you have the right "Change settings".
- For Site Health you need access to Tools → Site Health in WordPress.
Where to find it
- Diagnostics and admin log (Pro only): Funnelforms → Support, card Diagnostics at the bottom of the page
- Site Health: Tools → Site Health in WordPress
Features at a glance
- Download diagnostics (Pro only): a JSON file with the state of your installation. Next to it are the key facts, for example the number of forms and of failed deliveries in 30 days.
- Latest admin actions (Pro only): expandable, the latest 20 important actions with time, action, what it concerns and user.
- Two tests in Site Health: "Funnelforms deliveries" and "Funnelforms background jobs".
- Section "Funnelforms" in the WordPress support information.
Step by step
Downloading the diagnostics (Pro only)
- Open Funnelforms → Support.
- Scroll to the card Diagnostics.
- Click Download diagnostics.
- Attach the file to your request if you do not send a ticket from the plugin. In the ticket form you tick Attach diagnostics for this; the option is off by default.
Checking the Site Health
- In WordPress, open Tools → Site Health.
- Read the results of the tests "Funnelforms deliveries" and "Funnelforms background jobs".
- Open the tab "Info" and expand the section "Funnelforms" to see versions and settings. You can copy them into a ticket from there.
How it works
What is in the diagnostics file?
The file is named funnelforms-diagnostics-<website>-<date>-<time>.json and contains:
- Website: address, versions of WordPress, PHP and database, multisite, language, time zone, memory limit, debug mode, object cache, whether WP-Cron is switched off, active theme and active plugins with versions.
- Funnelforms: version, database version, whether the new renderer is built, whether Action Scheduler or WP-Cron runs the background jobs, spam protection, privacy mode, tracking code, number of websites for embedding and diagnostic data on or off.
- Forms: up to 1000 forms, per form title, status, renderer, languages, number of elements and fields per type, actions and problems found.
- Entries: counts only (total, last 7 days, last 30 days, by status).
- Deliveries: counts of the last 30 days by status, error codes and the latest 20 deliveries.
- Connections: number per type, without names and keys.
- Migration: counts by status.
- Checks: the results of the two Site Health tests.
- Admin log: the latest 50 actions.
Not included are the content of entries, contact data, names of connections and keys. E-mail addresses in error messages of mail servers are replaced by "[e-mail]".
What do the tests in Site Health mean?
- Funnelforms deliveries: Good if all mails, webhooks and CRM transfers of the last seven days were delivered. Otherwise "recommended" with the number of failed deliveries and the most frequent error codes. The entries themselves are stored; check the receivers and send the entries again from the entry.
- Funnelforms background jobs: Good if nothing waits. "Critical" if deliveries have been waiting for more than an hour. Then WP-Cron is probably switched off (DISABLE_WP_CRON) without a server cron job, or the website gets too few visits. Set up a server cron job for wp-cron.php.
What does Site Health show under "Funnelforms"?
In the tab "Info", the section "Funnelforms" shows, among others, the version, the database version, "New renderer built", "Forms on the new renderer" (for example "3 of 5"), background jobs, spam protection, privacy mode, whether tracking code is allowed and "Diagnostic data for Funnelforms" with On or Off. In Pro, the websites that may embed forms are added. The privacy mode shows "EU (GDPR)", "Global (opt-out)" or "Unrestricted (at your own risk)".
The row "Code of Funnelforms 3 loaded" says whether and why the old code still loads:
- "No": all forms run on Funnelforms 5, and nothing needs the old code.
- "Yes, forms still run on Funnelforms 3"
- "Yes, a connection of Funnelforms 3 (app, Zapier or Make) is set up"
- "Yes, the site went back to Funnelforms 3"
What does the admin log show? (Pro only)
In the card Diagnostics, expand "Latest admin actions". You see the latest 20 actions with "Time", "Action", "Concerns" and "By". For actions without a user it says "System". Recorded are, for example: form created, published, deleted, connection added or removed, API token created or revoked, entries exported or deleted, rights of a role changed, entries erased on request, website connected with or disconnected from Funnelforms, and all steps around support tickets and support access.
Best Practices
- When you notice a problem in Pro, download the diagnostics before you change settings.
- Look at Site Health after updates or server moves.
- Check the admin log if something changed without your doing.
- Look at the file before you pass it on: it contains the address of your website and the list of active plugins.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| "You may not download the diagnostics." | Your user does not have the right "Change settings" | Ask an administrator to grant it |
| There is no Support page and no diagnostics | You use Funnelforms Free | Use Site Health; the diagnostics and the admin log belong to Pro |
| Site Health reports failed deliveries | Mails, webhooks or CRM transfers did not arrive after three attempts | Check receivers and, in Pro, send the entries again; details under Funnelforms → Settings → E-mail in the section "Mails and deliveries" |
| Site Health reports "critical" for the background jobs | Deliveries have been waiting for more than an hour | Check WP-Cron and set up a server cron job if needed |
| "No admin actions recorded yet." | No action has been recorded yet | Not an error |
| The diagnostics are missing from the ticket | Attach diagnostics was not ticked, or they were larger than 256 KB | Tick it, or download the file and send it to support by e-mail |
Tips
Note: The diagnostics contain the address of your website, form titles and the names of active plugins. They contain no entries, contact data or keys.
- Whether the weekly diagnostic data are on, you see in Site Health in the row "Diagnostic data for Funnelforms".
- In Free, copy the support information from Site Health when you ask in the support forum. Check first what you share in public.
FAQ
Can support read my entries in the diagnostics? No. The diagnostics contain only counts of entries, never their content.
How current is the Site Health? The two tests are calculated anew when you open Tools → Site Health.
How long are admin actions shown? The Support page shows the latest 20, the diagnostics the latest 50 (Pro only).
Where do I see errors of single deliveries? Under Funnelforms → Settings → E-mail in the section "Mails and deliveries".
