The overview is the start page of Funnelforms in WordPress. It shows at a glance what you can still set up, how your forms did in the last 30 days and which entries came in last. This article also explains how the pages of Funnelforms are laid out, which menu items exist and who sees them.
Requirements
- You may edit forms (the right Edit forms). Administrators always have this right.
- You see the chart, the best forms and the latest entries only with the right See entries.
- As an administrator, you have finished the setup assistant. While it is open, the overview leads you to the assistant.
Where to find it
- Funnelforms → Overview. This is the first item in the menu Funnelforms.
- On every Funnelforms page, a click on Funnelforms at the top left of the top bar leads to the overview.
Features at a glance
- One layout: every Funnelforms page has a top bar with the Funnelforms mark, the name of the page and the main buttons. All pages have the same width.
- A greeting with your first name (otherwise your display name) and buttons for the next step, Open forms and View entries. Above it, Funnelforms Free 5 or Funnelforms Pro 5. In Free, the buttons Help center and Support forum come along.
- A checklist Setup with a progress bar (for example 2 of 5). Every open item is a link.
- Four figures: Forms, Views, Entries and Conversion rate.
- A chart Views and entries with a link to Statistics.
- Best forms of the last 30 days.
- Latest entries with the link All entries.
- Your forms with the link All forms.
- The button New form on the right of the top bar.
Step by step
Finish open setup items
- Open Funnelforms → Overview.
- Look at the card Setup to see which items are still open.
- Click an open item or the large button in the greeting. You land right where you finish the item.
- Return to the overview. Finished items are ticked and the counter (for example 3 of 5) goes up.
Create a new form
- Click New form on the right of the top bar.
- Build and publish the form in the form builder.
How it works
What is in the checklist "Setup"?
- Connect your Funnelforms account (Pro only): done when the website is connected. The item appears for administrators only.
- Bring over your forms from Funnelforms 3: done once the import has run. The item appears only if data of Funnelforms 3 exists and you may change settings.
- Publish a form: done once at least one form is published.
- Show it on your website: done once a published page or post contains a Funnelforms form, as a shortcode (
[funnelformsor[anfrageformular2), as a block or as an Elementor widget. - Receive the first entry: done once a complete entry exists.
When everything is done, the greeting says "Everything is set up. Here is how your forms are doing." Otherwise the large button in the greeting leads to the next open item.
What do the figures mean?
- Forms: all forms that are not in the trash, with the number of published ones below.
- Views: visits of the last 30 days, each form counted once per visit.
- Entries: complete entries of the last 30 days. Below it you see the change against the 30 days before, for example "+12 % against the 30 days before".
- Conversion rate: entries per view in the last 30 days. If no views were measured, a dash is shown.
With the right See entries, the overview counts exactly like the page Statistics and the form list. So the numbers match everywhere.
What does the card "Latest entries" show?
The five latest complete entries with form name and time ("5 minutes ago"). What visitors entered is never shown there. A click opens the entry under Entries. If an entry belongs to a deleted form, Deleted form is shown.
What do the labels under "Your forms" mean?
- Live: the form is published and runs on Funnelforms 5.
- Live on Funnelforms 3 (Pro only): the form is published but not switched to Funnelforms 5 yet.
- Not shown yet (Free only): the form from Funnelforms 3 is not switched to Funnelforms 5 yet. Free has no code of Funnelforms 3, so it does not show the form to visitors.
- Draft: the form is not published.
The card shows the five forms edited last, with their number of entries. If there is no form yet, it shows Your first form with the button New form.
Which menu items exist and who sees them?
| Menu item | Purpose | Required right |
|---|---|---|
| Overview | Start page of Funnelforms | Edit forms |
| Forms | Form list and form builder | Edit forms |
| Entries | Incoming entries | See entries |
| Appointments (Pro only) | Booked appointments | See entries |
| Statistics | Figures and trends | See entries |
| Import | Bring forms over from other form plugins as drafts | Edit forms |
| Migration | Report on the import from Funnelforms 3; appears once an import has run | Change settings |
| Integrations (Pro only) | Connect calendars for appointments | Change settings |
| Settings | Settings of the plugin | Change settings |
| Account (Pro only) | Connection to your Funnelforms account | Administrator |
| Support (Pro only) | Help and support requests | Change settings |
| Pro features (Free only) | Free and Pro compared, and the way to Pro | Edit forms |
| Funnelforms 3 (Pro only) | Link to the old interface; visible only if Funnelforms 3 brings a menu and you have not hidden the entry | Administrator |
Administrators always have all rights. Other roles get rights under Settings → Rights.
What happens to the overview while the setup is open?
The setup assistant is mandatory. Until it is finished, every Funnelforms page leads administrators to the assistant, the overview as well. Only the page Pro features in Free still opens. Users without administrator rights see the overview as usual. After the step Done of the assistant, Go to the overview brings you here.
What happens when I go back to Funnelforms 3?
Pro only: the menu is then called Funnelforms 5, the old menu of Funnelforms 3 returns, and it has the entry Back to Funnelforms 5.
Best Practices
- Work through the checklist from top to bottom. The large button in the greeting always leads you to the next open item.
- Compare the figures with the value below them: the change against the 30 days before shows whether a change to a form helps.
- Give colleagues who only build forms the right Edit forms without See entries. They then see the overview without entries.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| The setup assistant opens instead of the overview | The setup is not finished yet. | Go through the assistant up to the step Done. |
| I see no Entries or Statistics item | You lack the right See entries. | Ask an administrator to add your right under Settings → Rights. |
| Show it on your website stays open | The form is only on a draft page, or the shortcode, block or Elementor widget is missing. | Publish the page or post with the form. |
| Connect your Funnelforms account stays open (Pro) | The connection is not active. | Open Funnelforms → Account and connect the website. |
| Conversion rate shows a dash | No views were measured in the last 30 days. | Wait for visitors. As soon as a form has been viewed, the value appears. |
| The menu item Migration is missing | No import from Funnelforms 3 has run yet. | The item appears by itself after the first import. |
| The menu items Account, Support, Appointments and Integrations are missing | You use Funnelforms Free. | These areas exist in Funnelforms Pro only. |
Tips
- The figures on the overview always cover the last 30 days. You find longer periods under Statistics, and the analytics of single forms (Pro only) there as well. In Free, a click on a form under Statistics shows its figures.
- For entries, the overview shows only the form name and time. You can show it to others without exposing data of visitors.
- In Funnelforms Free, Pro features compares Free and Pro by area and leads to the plan selection with Upgrade to Pro. At the bottom of the page you reach the help center and the support forum.
FAQ
Why do I see no button "Continue the setup"? While the setup is open, the overview takes you as an administrator straight to the assistant. Once it is finished, the greeting shows the next open item of the checklist instead.
How often are the figures updated? The four figures are recalculated from your data every time you open the overview.
Where do I see the figures of a single form? In Pro under Funnelforms → Statistics, in the analytics of the form. For the best forms, a click on the name of a form that runs on Funnelforms 5 leads there. In Free, the same click opens the statistics of the form in the editor.
